Wiranto said it took long consideration for the party to finally nominate Hary Tanoesoedibjo who had just entered politics to become the party`s vice presidential candidate.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The General Chairman of the Hanura Party, Wiranto, said that the party was learning risk taking by nominating presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2014 election from within the party.

"We are trying to become a political party that dares taking risks and developing a new culture by nominating its own cadres," the retired army general said here on Tuesday after the party`s declaration of its presidential and vice presidential candidates.

He said it took long consideration for the party to finally nominate Hary Tanoesoedibjo who had just entered politics to become the party`s vice presidential candidate.

He claimed the decision was the answer to the public`s appeal for strong leadership from the younger generation who stands above ethnic differences in the country.

Hary Tanoe meanwhile said the different backgrounds that exist between him and Wiranto could become the power for winning the 2014 general elections.

"Wiranto, who is from the military with a lot of experience and strong, and me from with my business and economic capabilities would form maximum strength for the nation," he said.

Hary Tanoe who is a big businessman recently left the Nasional Democrat Party to join the Hanura party.

Hanura was the first political party to officially declare its presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2014 election.

The party was one of the nine parties that could pass the parliamentary threshold in the last legislative elections in 2009 and took 18 seats in the House of Representatives (DPR).

The party is optimistic it could become one of the three biggest political parties in the next legislative elections and thus pass the threshold to nominate its own presidential candidate.(*)
