Most of East Java`s non-oil/non-gas exports in June went to Japan with a value of US$228.11 million."Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - East Java`s exports in June fell 5.56 percent to US$1.172 billion from US$1.241 billion a month earlier, according to the local statistics office.
June`s exports consisted of oil and gas exports worth US$23.76 million and non-oil/non-gas exports valued at US$1.149 billion, head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) office in East Java M Sairi Hasbullah said here on Thursday.
"The non-oil/non-gas exports in June 2013 were dominated by vegetable and animal oils worth US$137.22 million," he said.
Paper and cardboard exports contributed US$89.90 million to June`s non-oil/non-gas exports, followed by wood and wood products US$74.96 million, organic chemicals US$70.63 million, and fish and shrimp US$65.14 million, he said.
"Most of East Java`s non-oil/non-gas exports in June went to Japan with a value of US$228.11 million," he said.
This was followed by China with US$135.38 million, the United States US$134.79 million, Malaysia US$80.44 million, and The Netherlands US$36.04 million.
"Exports to the five countries represent 53.50 percent of East Java`s overall non-oil/non-gas exports," he said.
Meanwhile, farm commodity and mining product exports in June rose 1.92 percent and 70.54 percent respectively, while the export of industrial goods fell 1.82 percent compared to May 2013, he said.
He said the oil and gas exports and non-oil/non-gas exports respectively contributed 2.03 percent and 97.97 percent of the overall exports in June 2013.
