We had actually discussed the preparations since two weeks ago."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a cabinet meeting here on Friday to discuss preparations for serving homebound travelers during Idul Fitri.

"The final check on the preparations is necessary to ensure high-quality services and adequate security for homebound travelers. We had actually discussed the preparations since two weeks ago. But today we want to make sure that whatever we had prepared for and planned are in place," the president said.

The meeting was attended by, among others, Vice President Boediono and several ministers.

The head of state said he was planning to visit several locations on Monday to experience the Id-ul-Fitr exodus.

More than 15 million Indonesians are expected to return to their hometowns to celebrate the Muslim festivity, which most likely falls on August 8 this year.
