This is a 20 percent increase as compared to 2012, when only 12,080 people had visited Bali."Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - A total of 15,154 Idul Fitri travelers left Ngurah Rai International Airport, here on Sunday, three days after Idul Fitri, said an official.
Ketut Dana, spokesperson for the Integrated Monitoring Command Post of Idul Fitri Transportation, mentioned that the number of passengers at Ngurah Rai Airport reached a peak on Sunday.
There has been a 11 percent increase in the number of travelers at the airport this year, as compared to 2012, when the figure stood at 13,654.
A total of 113 planes were seen carrying passengers from Bali to Jakarta and Surabaya, East Java.
According to Dana, the number of returning travelers has been on the rise since Saturday, with 105 planes carrying 13,978 passengers.
Meanwhile, 103 planes carrying 13,116 people have landed in Bali since Saturday.
Despite the large numbers of passengers leaving Bali, the city saw an influx of 14,554 passengers aboard 114 planes.
"This is a 20 percent increase as compared to 2012, when only 12,080 people had visited Bali," said Dana.
In addition, the returning flow of Idul Fitri travelers at Ngurah Rai Airport has decreased.
Dana said the Integrated Command Post will be operational until Friday (August 16).
