Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - At least 20 people are known to have died after Giri Indah tourist bus plunged into an eight-metre deep valley in Tugu Utara Village, Bogor District on August 21, 2013, said the police.

"Sulaeman, a resident of Bogor, died in Sentra Medika Hospital in Cibinong," added a Bogor police officer on Thursday.

Sulaeman`s death was confirmed by Head of the Cibinong traffic insurance company "Jasa Raharja" Hadi Syaiful Hadi. Sulaeman was hit by the ill-fated tourist bus when he was on his way to deliver some tubes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to a nearby shop.

According to Hadi, after being hit by the bus, Sulaeman broke his leg and suffered injuries on his head. Before his death, Sulaeman received intensive treatment at Sentra Medika Hospital.

When the bus carrying 53 passengers approached the valley at 8 a.m., its brakes failed, and it plunged into the valley near Ciliwung River.

So far, sixteen deceased people have been identified, and they include Toto Sudarto, Sandra, Lidia Manik, Hana, Tom Simon, H Ajid Samsudi, Ani, Ginokon Sihotang, Marcel, Anton, Ines, Eflin Tompi, Nurlina, Femy, Yuliana Kurniawan, and Sulaeman.

A number of passengers were injured and four of them are being treated at Centra Medika Hospital in Cibinong, according to the police.(*)
