Foreigners, violating the immigration law would be sent back to their countries."Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The Palu immigration office has deported four Chinese men from Central Sulawesi over the past eight months for violation of the immigration law.
The four, Lu Hui, Yu Chunlai, Ren Sheng and Yan Jinxian, held visa for tourists but they worked for a company in Central Sulawesi, Amar B., an official of the local immigration office, said.
They have been sent back to China although their passports were still valid, Amar said here.
"Foreigners, violating the immigration law would be sent back to their countries," he said.
He said so far this year no illegal immigrant caught in Central Sulawesi as in a number of other regions in the country.
Police in other regions in the country have caught hundreds of illegal immigrants from Middle East and other conflicts areas in Asia and Africa.
"Very rare, but three years ago we caught illegal immigrants from Afghanistan," he said.
He said it is not easy to monitor the movements of foreigners in the province on inadequate number of immigration officers and infrastructure in district areas far from the provincial city.
The one in Palu is the only immigration office in the province, he added.
"Sometimes, immigration officials have to visit companies employing expatriates to examine their papers," he said.
