The 40MW award in Mozambique is a multi-year contract for a fast-track power plant comprising gas power modules. The plant will run solely on natural gas and will be APR Energy's second project in the country.
APR Energy's 32MW contract award for diesel power modules in Senegal will supplement the 66MW of power capacity APR Energy is already providing. The Senegal and Mozambique wins, together with contracts in Libya, Botswana, Angola, Mali, and Gabon, will bring APR Energy's total operating capacity within Africa to 763MW.
The contract award in Indonesia, APR Energy's third in the country this year, is for a 75MW fast-track plant featuring diesel power modules. Together with existing plants in Nias and Padang, the new plant will increase APR Energy's power generation capacity to 130MW in the country.
The majority of the financial impact of the awards will be felt in 2014 with a proportion expected to come on line in late 2013.
John Campion, APR Energy's Chief Executive Officer said:
"The 147MW in Mozambique, Indonesia, and Senegal build upon the strong new business momentum that APR Energy gained in the first half of the year as a leader in fast-track, large-scale power.
"Our awards in Indonesia and Senegal will further strengthen our presence in these two highly important markets, and will increase our diesel fleet utilization. The Mozambique deal aligns closely with APR Energy's strategy to increase our natural gas footprint by taking advantage of the growing demand for the lower-cost, lower-emissions fuel. With approximately 50% of our fleet being natural gas capable, APR Energy is positioned well to benefit from this growing opportunity."
