"On behalf of my delegation, I thank and appreciate the warm welcome that has been given to us. I came here bringing regards from my people, with hope that cooperation and friendship would increase in the future," President Yudhoyono said before the meeting.
President Yudhoyono added that relations between the two countries would continue to expand, especially in the field of economics, which he said has great potential.
"Last year, President Nazarbayev visited Indonesia and, since then, real progress has been recorded, and I come now to continue this progress. There will be agreements that will be signed in the fields of investment, education, energy, food, culture and even security. Kazakhstan`s economy has grown well, and so has Indonesia`s economy. We hope relations would continue to develop," he said.
President Nazarbayev, meanwhile, said Indonesia is Kazakhstan`s partner and he hoped relations between the two countries would continue to grow.
"We also wish to congratulate the Indonesian people, with regards to their recent independence anniversary," he said.
President Yudhoyono and President Nazarbayev are also scheduled to witness the signing of memorandums of understanding on cultural and economic cooperation.
