International Council Shopping Centers event runs December 1-3 in Beijing

BEIJING, Oct. 28, 2013 (ANTARA/PRNewswire) -- Global retail real estate leaders will convene at ICSC RECon Asia 2013 at Beijing's China National Convention Center (CNCC) from December 1-3.

This year's speakers include executives from C&A, CBRE Global, Charming Charlie, Inter IKEA Center, Jumba Juice, Ru Guo (If Juice), Twice Fashion and Walmart Asia Realty.

The annual Asia event of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will draw together the world's top executives in retail, retail real estate development, leasing, management and finance to examine industry issues and trends.

"Our speakers testify to RECon Asia's value as the industry platform to explore Asia's possibilities and challenges," said ICSC Asia Pacific Director Tan Guan Heng.

With China rapidly urbanizing and increasingly focusing on developing domestic economy, coherent shopping center development and management become crucial. Consumer spending -- in 2012, only 36% of GDP compared to 60% or more in developed economies, according to World Bank -- will account for a bigger share of the Chinese economy.

Delegates will also learn how industry players capitalize on Asia-wide prospects including Indonesia and Indochina. They will assess new markets for entry, tackle issues like challenges in securing reliable market data or how to safeguard product integrity.

New entrants are the highlights of RECon Asia 2013, with US fast fashion accessory brand Charming Charlie presenting at Retail Runway and Arcoretail participating with Chinese partner Jihua Group as the meeting's Silver Sponsor.

Major exhibitors and sponsors also include: Aedas, AEON, Architects Orange, Arterior Group, Ayala Land, Benoy, Broadway Malyan, Concept International Design, Garde, Giken Shoji, Inter IKEA Centre, International Software, Jihua Group, McDonald's, PLAYTIME, RDG, Shen Zhen Avic 9 Square Real Estate, ShopperTrak, SM Prime Holdings, SPARK Design Consulting, Subway Real Estate Corp., Starbucks, Taubman Asia, The Buchan Group.
