Born on May 10, 1962, Suhardi Alius graduated from the Police Academy in 1985. His previous posts included the Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Police, the Police Headquarters` Public Relations Division chief, and West Java Police chief.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - National Police Chief General Sutarman officially installed Inspector General Suhardi Alius as Head of the National Polices Crime Investigation Department, here on Friday.
General Sutarman, in his remarks, expressed hope that the new chief will improve the professionalism and quality of police investigations.
Suhardi Alius had earlier promised to implement effective measures against crime and to step up surveillance, following his appointment as the next head of the National Polices Crime Investigation Department recently.
"Surveillance is crucial, and so are timelines, corridor and evaluation. We will improve on all shortcomings," promised Suhardi.
Born on May 10, 1962, Suhardi Alius graduated from the Police Academy in 1985. His previous posts included the Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Police, the Police Headquarters Public Relations Division chief, and West Java Police chief.
His earlier position also included serving as personal staff coordinator of the then National Police Chief General Sutanto.
In addition to Suhardi Alius, General Sutarman also appointed other police officials, including Inspector General Anton Bachrul Alam as new General Supervision Inspector (Irwasum), as successor to Commissioner General Imam Sudjarwo, who was nearing retirement.
He asked Bachrul Alam to tighten supervision on budget use to prevent corruption that could be a disadvantage to the organization and the state.
On the occasion, Inspector General Tubagus Anis Angkawijaya was appointed as the new Police Facility and Infrastructure Assistant and Brigadier General Mochammad Iriawan as the new West Java Police Chief, as successor to Suhardi Alius.
General Sutarman also appointed General Moechgiarto as the new West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Police Chief.(*)
