Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian National Drugs Agency (BNN) has arrested a Pakistani narcotic drug courier at Jakartas Soekarno-Hatta airport, along with two Indonesians who are fellow syndicate members.

According to BNNs official statement received here on Tuesday, the Pakistani courier known by his initials, SUK alias UM, has been ordered by his fellowmen in Pakistan to take delivery of a bag containing narcotic drugs from someone outside the airport, which was to be handed over to another courier, sometime later.

SUK had entered Indonesia twice, once in mid 2013, during which time, the operation was successful.

In the first mission, SUK met a Pakistani, he did not know, at the Soekarno-Hatta airport.
The man gave him a bag which he later delivered to another courier.

The second mission was carried out on January 6, 2014. SUK returned to Indonesia, transiting via Thailand on January 7.

On January 8, he arrived at Soekarno-Hatta airport and carried out his mission by receiving a bag and then handing the same over to another courier known by his initials, TR (50) at Hotel Novotel in Mangga Dua, Jakarta, on Wednesday (Jan. 8).

After receiving the bag, TR immediately took the bag home in Beji, Depok, West Java but was later caught at his house at around 00.30 a.m. on Thursday.

The officers confiscated heroin weighing 1,564.3 grams and methamphetamine weighing 942.2 grams, from him.

It came to be known through interrogation that TR had worked for RLS (43) alias SA.

BNN officers later arrested SA at his home in Cinere at around 01.30 a.m. that day.

SA has been involved with the narcotic drug syndicate since October 2013 and has received around Rp1 million, in exchange for his service, per transaction.

He informed the officers that he shared the money with TR and others. Prior to becoming a drug courier, SA worked as a supplier of prostitutes to foreigners.

SA stated that he was forced to work as a drug courier because he had to feed his five children.
