One of the five Japanese tourists, Furukawa Saori (37), who is a diving instructor, is currently being treated intensively at Kasih Ibu hospital in Kedonganan, Kuta, in the district of Badung.
The remaining survivors, meanwhile, were evacuated by boat and arrived at Semawang pier in Sanur at around 8:30 p.m. They will all be taken to the Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar.
The five Japanese tourists were found in a mangrove forest in Jungut Batu, around 30 kilometers from their diving site. The location was difficult to reach due to high waves in the area, which is located on a slope.
The two missing persons are believed to have gotten separated from the group during the dive.(*)
