"As vice president, his electability is also high at 14.5 percent," PDB researcher Agus Herta noted while presenting the survey results here on Friday.
In the meantime, former vice president Jusuf Kallas electability as vice president is ranked second at 11.2 percent followed by Dahlan Iskan (the current state enterprises minister) at 6.4 percent, he claimed.
Jakartas Deputy Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, was ranked fourth at 5.9 percent, while Hatta Radjasa, the chief economic minister was ranked fifth at 4.5 percent, former constitutional court chief justice Mahfud MD was ranked sixth at 4.4 percent, businessman Hary Tanoesudibjo was ranked seventh at 3.9 percent, businessman Chairul Tanjung stood eighth at 3.1 percent, Puan Maharani, the daughter of former president Megawati was ranked ninth at 2.3 percent, and former trade minister Gita Wirjawan was ranked tenth at 2.0 percent.
PDB researcher Didik J Rachbini emphasized that despite the fact that around 40.6 percent of respondents did not answer or were still undecided about their votes, they could still vote for other candidates, including those that have not been mentioned in the survey.
"Those who are still undecided are usually more neutral and bring new hope for a better situation," he added.
The survey conducted through telephonic polling on February 7-10, involved 1.2 thousand respondents from 15 cities in the country such as Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Palembang, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Mataram, Ambon, and Jayapura.
The respondents were randomly chosen, while the results have a margin of error of 2.8 percent with 95 percent reliability.(*)
