Grimsson made the offer when receiving the credentials from Indonesian Ambassador to Iceland Yuwono A. Putranto at his official residence in Bessastair, Reykjavik, recently, the second secretary of educational, social and cultural affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo, Dyah Kusumawardani said in a written statement to an Antara correspondent in London on Sunday.
On the occasion, Ambassador Yuwono conveyed President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyonos best regards to President Grimsson and the entire people of Iceland.
The ambassador also spoke of latest developments in Indonesia, including the plan to hold legislative elections on April 9.
He expressed his strong desire to take active part in enhancing cooperation between the two nations in all fields.
To that end, he expressed hope that the Iceland government and stakeholders would support the effort.
Meanwhile, President Grimsson extended his best regards to the Indonesian president and people and pledged to support the ambassadors desire to enhance cooperation between the two nations in all fields.
Grimsson said bilateral cooperation in the geothermal field may be increased to serve the two countries interests.
Indonesia established diplomatic ties with Iceland in 1983. Cooperation between the two countries covers geothermal and fishery affairs.
