Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had confiscated a car belonging to the grandmother of Tangerang Selatans mayor Airin Rachmi Diany.

The car was confiscated on Wednesday in connection with the alleged case of money laundering of Airins husband Tubagus Chaery Wardhana (TCW) alias Wawan.

"A silver Toyota Inova car with the plate number B159AKI was confiscated in connection with investigation in the alleged money laundering case of suspect TCW. The car was brought by a driver to the KPK compound at 3.30 p. m.," KPKs spokesman Johan Budi said.

In addition to the Toyota Inova car of Hj Siti Hannah, the KPK had also confiscated a black Land Rover car with a plate number B888AX, which belonged to TCW.

"The car was confiscated from Hence Benjamin, a friend of TCW. The person concerned brought the car to the KPK at 5.30 p. m.," he said.

The car of Airins grandmother is the 79th, while the Land Rover is the 80th car confiscated by the KPK from TCW. The cars that were confiscated include a number of luxury cars, such as a Ferrari California, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Bentley Flying Spurs and a Mercedes-Benz.

The KPK had so far also traced TCWs other assets totaling up to 100 units of houses and plots of land in Bali, West Java, Banten and Jakarta.

Wawan, who is the younger brother of the Banten governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah, was charged with violating several articles in the money laundering law carrying a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a fine of up to Rp10 billion.

He was also charged with committing bribery in connection with an election dispute in Lebak, Banten, and procurement of health equipment at a central health care center in Tangerang Selatan, Banten, so far.
