Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) closed lower at 4,834.47 on Tuesday.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange fell 8.04 points or 0.17 percent with the index of 45 most liquid stocks down 0.22 percent to 815.34 points.

HD Capitals analyst Yuganur Wijanarko said the JCI was still in the process of consolidation that it would be difficult for the JCI to decline or to rise.

Meanwhile, the mid term market players were accumulating shares, he said.

There were only 145,852 transactions in Tuesday trade at the BEI with 2.62 billion shares worth Rp2.69 trillion changing hands.

Gainers were outnumbered by decliners by 139 to 160 with 104 shares flat. (*)
