"I will issue an official letter of permit for Jokowi tomorrow, and after that Jokowi will become non-active as the governor of Jakarta until the General Election Commission (KPU) announces the names of the elected president and vice president," President Yudhoyono said outside his office on Tuesday.
The president made the statement after receiving Jokowi at his office at 1 p. m. on Tuesday.
During a press conference after the meeting with the president, Jokowi said he had been officially permitted by President Yudhoyono, but the written permit will be issued on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Jokowi said the president had also permitted him to take a leave of absence to run for the president in the upcoming election. (*)
