According to Saut, the government's commitment is demonstrated by the implementation of a business forum on various occasions. One of it is the series of World Coral Reef organizing Conference (WCRC) held in Manado WOBF on May 14, 2014, combined with Coral Reef Exhibition. "It is expected through the implementation of this forum, some business deals concerning sustainability and environmentally friendly business in marine and fisheries will be resulted as a supporting efforts to improve the economy, prosperity and welfare of the people," remarked Saut.
Saut explains that this forum aims to inform business and investment opportunities in marine and fisheries sectors which based on sustainable coral reef ecosystems. Moreover, it is also a place of business entrepreneurs in establishing partnerships between businessmen at home and abroad. "In addition, the Forum will also be used by the seaweed community to discuss the preparation of the ASEAN SOM (Senior Official Meeting), a forum of seaweed development cooperation in Asean which will be held in Thailand in June 2014," said Saut.
WOBF is attended by at least 250 participants from 25 countries that came from the government, regional and international organizations, NGOs, business people as well as scientists and academics. "In this forum, the businessmen will be invited to invest in the business of using and managing marine and fisheries resources by considering the principles of the coral reefs, seawed and mangroves sustainability resources," remarked Saut.
The State member of WOBF consists of Argentina, the United States, Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, China, Finland, Gambia, Britain, Iraq, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, France, Philippines, Seychelles, Thailand, Uganda and Vietnam. "While the participants from domestic consisted of the fishery and seawed businessmen, tourism agents/tour operators, research institutes and universities, NGO's, Department of Marine and Fisheries Province District/Municipal and Local Government Agencies ," closed Saut.
