The budget for one round of presidential elections is around Rp300 to Rp400 billion so we can save around Rp200 billionLembang, W Java (ANTARA News) - One round of presidential election will save Rp200 billion of the total funds of Rp600 billion, according to National Police (Polri) chiefs operational assistant Inspector General Arif Wachjunadi.
"The budget for one round of presidential elections is around Rp300 to Rp400 billion so we can save around Rp200 billion," Arif said here on Thursday.
He noted that for the presidential election, Polri will ensure security without adding the number of its personnel like it did during the past legislative election.
It is because the presidential election campaigns will be longer than the legislative election campaigns
"Presidential election campaigns will take 30 days, but the legislative election campaigns at the time took only 21 days," he said.
He explained that the total funds for both legislative and presidential elections amounted Rp1.6 trillion and for presidential election were allocated for two rounds.
