We will continue to tighten up security at every area in Central Java to anticipate the radical movement of ISIS in the province."
Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - The Central Java chapter of Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Chairman KH Ahmad Darodji has stated that the movement of radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) cannot be justified whatever the reason is.

"God willing the central Indonesian Ulema Council will on Thursday issue a ruling to forbid the movement of ISIS in the country," Ahmad said here on Wednesday.

He made the statement after attending a meeting to discuss the ISIS issue with the rank and file of Central Java government, Central Java police, and Diponegoro Military Command.

Ahmad explained that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and Pancasila, the five basic principles of the republic, cannot be replaced by any other ideology.

To fight against the radical movement of ISIS in Indonesia, particularly in Central Java, he said the public should have the right religious understanding and approach.

"With true religious approach and understanding, the public will not be incited to become the members of radical movements in Indonesia," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said all parties should unite to strengthen the position of NKRI, Pancasila, and the 1945 Constitution to prevent the growth of radical movement in the country.

"Together, we have to be wary of ISIS movement, fight against it, abolish its pictures at public areas, and lower its flags wherever they are flown," the governor noted.

Further, the politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) stressed that radicalism could be blocked with radicalization.

Besides the governor, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Nur Ali said security will be stepped up at all areas in the province in anticipation of the progress of ISIS radical movement.

"We will continue to tighten up security at every area in Central Java to anticipate the radical movement of ISIS in the province," Nur Ali added.
