"For the first time ever, BI will hold a meeting of its board of governors outside Jakarta," Tirta Segara, the executive director of the central banks communication department stated here on Monday.
At the coordination meeting, BI, along with the central and regional governments, will discuss the continuation of structural reforms in a bid to accelerate the development of regional economy.
The meeting will focus on the coordination of policies intended to improve the competitive edge of manufactured goods in the export market and accelerate the development of infrastructure facilities and maritime-oriented projects including the creation of a conducive business environment in the eastern part of Indonesia.
In addition, it will also discuss the export prospect of the countrys manufactured goods along with the latest developments in the global economy and the strategy of developing the human resource-based manufacturing sector, including the so-called blue growth, particularly in the eastern part of Indonesia.
The challenge that can lay ahead for improving the competitive edge of manufactured goods was related to supporting factors (enablers) and business environment, he emphasized.
The meeting will be led by BI Governor Agus D.W. Martowardojo and will be attended by Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Armida S. Alisjahbana, Deputy Finance Minister Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Mahendra Siregar, Deputy Chief of All-Indonesia Provincial Government Association (APPSI), and North Sulawesi Governor Dr Sinyo Harry Sarundajang.
