The president and his entourage departed from Jakarta Halim Perdanakusum Airport at 1:20 p.m. local time using the presidential plane.
In a press statement shortly before departing, the head of state stated that during his visit to Singapore, he will have a meeting with Singapores Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Tony Tan.
"There will be other activities where our governments (of Indonesia and Singapore) will evaluate what has been achieved during the last 10 years," he affirmed.
Accompanying the president in this working visit are Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Djoko Suyanto, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Chairul Tanjung, Education Minister Muhammad Nuh, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, and other officials.
Presidential Special Staff for International Relations Teuku Faizasyah earlier remarked that during the meeting they will discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations.
Faizasyah noted that Yudhoyono will also witness the signing of the agreement on the Delimitation of the Territorial Seas in the Eastern Part of the Strait of Singapore.
In addition, Yudhoyono will be bestowed with the honor of the Order of Temasek First Class by the Singapore government.
Meanwhile, the signing of the maritime boundary agreement is expected to create a positive momentum to further boost bilateral relations, the spokesman added.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will by law, end his second term of office on October 20, 2014.
