"During this fair, the public can learn about the different forms of renewable energy such as biogas, wind energy, solar energy, and several other renewable energy-related technologies that they can utilize," local ESDM spokesman Arifin stated here on Wednesday.
He noted that this effort to educate the people was expected to raise public awareness on the ways to use renewable energy to meet their energy demands.
In the meantime, Anton, the spokesman of CV Mentari Daya Perkasa, one of the solar panel providers in South Sulawesi, remarked that public awareness regarding the use of renewable energy was still low.
"Their awareness about renewable energy remains low, and therefore, they have to be educated about the utilization of alternative sources of energy," Anton stated, adding that the Sulsel Fair was the right platform to edify them.
He expressed optimism that in the future, increasing more number of people in South Sulawesi will start using solar panels in their respective houses.
"People in the districts of Sinjai, Pinrang, and Selayar are now starting to use solar panels, and many more will use this technology in the future," he emphasized.
