"We should start working for the people from the very first day," President Jokowi emphasized during the first cabinet meeting.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo has ordered all ministers to start executing their tasks immediately after being inaugurated on Monday in order to fulfill the peoples expectations from the new cabinet.

"We should start working for the people from the very first day. We should not have doubted any challenge, including organizational arrangements," the president emphasized here during the first cabinet meeting on Monday.

According to President Jokowi, the nomenclature changes in some ministries should not affect the performance of each institution.

"The minister should not doubt any challenge, including the institutions arrangements," Jokowi added.

The president stated that the ministries with unchanged nomenclature can commence work immediately after the ministers designation.

"The minister who got an unchanged nomenclature ministry can continue to work immediately. After entering the institution, the minister must not forget to monitor the planning, budget, and organizational arrangements," Jokowi affirmed.

Moreover, the president urged the ministers, who have been assigned new ministries, to use the existent setup, so that they can start offering their services to the country.

The president also urged several new ministries, who did not have office buildings, to coordinate with the state secretary minister and National Development Planning Board minister.

"The ministries that have changed their organization units, such as the State Ministry of Research, Technology and High Level of Education, can utilize the office of the high educational Directorate General and its deputy. We have prepared the presidential decree," Jokowi remarked.

The president ordered the ministries, which are yet to have an office and staff, to coordinate with the state secretary minister and the administrative and bureaucratic reform minister.

"They should commence work immediately by utilizing the existing facilities," Jokowi added.

The first cabinet meeting of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla started at 2 p.m. local time at the presidential office.

The president had inaugurated the working cabinet on Monday morning at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta City.(*)
