The Chinese foreign minister, who arrived at 4.35 p. m., was welcomed by President Jokowi personally at the palace gates. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi and State Secretary Pratikno.
Earlier in the day, President Jokowi had received German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier at the palace.
The new presidents agenda in the morning included installing cabinet secretary Andi Widjajanto, followed by a cabinet meeting and the launch of the Indonesia Smart Card and Indonesia Health Card programs, the distribution of which will grant the poor free education and health services.
