The currency traded at the level of 12,294 per dollar from 12,271 per dollar earlier.
The rupiah fall followed optimism that the US economic condition would improve , chief researcher of Woori Korindo Securities Indonesia Reza Priyambada said.
The US economic condition is expected to improve with an increase in the number jobs available in the worlds largest economy and a statement by deputy governor of the US central bank Stanley Fischer saying the worlds oil falling price would improve the US economic condition.
Positive sentiment in the country is not enough to offset the impact of the external sentiment, Reza said.(*)
