The government is keen to strengthen the budget posture for accelerating development in various sectors, and the recently announced price hike of subsidized fuels was part of this policy.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The governments plan to reduce the budget for unnecessary routine expenses and policies might not be viewed in a positive light by every party in Indonesia, Vice President Jusuf Kalla stated here on Monday.
Conversing with journalists here, he noted that such policy decisions should be taken despite the dissatisfaction expressed by parties, such as hoteliers, who responded negatively to the governments policy that prohibits civil servants from holding meetings at hotels.
The government is keen to strengthen the budget posture for accelerating development in various sectors, he remarked, adding that the recently announced price hike of subsidized fuels was part of this policy.
Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi has recently imposed a policy that prevents civil servants from holding meetings at hotels. Instead, the meetings should take place at offices.
"This efficiency measure has been adopted while the quality of services for the people are being maintained," he added.(*)
