Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Australias Consul General in Denpasar, Bali Province, Majel Hind slammed the door of Kerobokan Prison in Badung District while visiting "Bali Nine" drug dealers there.

Accompanied by a special staff, Majel arrived in the prison at 09:00 a.m. local time on Monday.

Several local and international media crews had gathered at the prison to interview the diplomat.

After making his way through the media crews, Consular Majel entered the prison and slammed its iron door making a loud noise.

The Consuls gesture surprised the media crews, including prison officers who were guarding the door.

The Australian Consulate General has not responded to the incident.

Several media crews believe that Majel slammed the door to express his annoyance at the media crews that have been waiting at the prison for several days.

A delegation from the consulate general, including the lawyer of two Australian drug convicts on death row, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, recently visited the prison.

Andrew and Myuran were nabbed while smuggling heroin.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has rejected their clemency petitions.

The officers of Kerobokan Prison and the Bali Provincial Human Rights and Law Ministry Office have yet to receive any information about the time and place of execution of the two inmates.
