Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes Indonesias ambassadors or representatives abroad will translate the countrys diplomatic priorities especially in terms of sovereignty, economic diplomacy, and citizens protection.

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A.M. Fachir, the President has affirmed that the Indonesian diplomatic priority should be translated by the countrys representatives abroad.

"So, our ambassadors or representatives abroad must become marketers and opportunity seekers. We have called our ambassadors for a working meeting," A.M. Fachir said here on Friday.

"This is to carry out the directive of the President, especially for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, to implement his vision and mission in the next five years," he remarked.

He emphasized that the vision and mission of the President should be translated into Indonesias diplomatic priorities, namely sovereignty, economic diplomacy, and the protection of its citizens.

He noted the efforts will improve a representatives performance especially in terms of bureaucratic reforms, good governance, and the adjustment of the structure of the Foreign Ministry to optimally translate the vision and mission of the President.

"We are also going to ask a number of ministers to provide certain guidelines to achieve the three points," he revealed.

The working meeting will be attended by 132 heads of representation abroad.
