Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The police have named non-active commissioner of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad, as a suspect in the "Rumah Kaca" case, Deputy Chief of the National Police Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti said.

"Yes, he has been named as a suspect (in the Rumah Kaca case). It happened a week ago," he added here on Friday.

Samad was reported to the police by Executive Director of KPK Watch M. Yusuf Sahide, based on an article on the Kompasiana blog titled "Rumah Kaca Abraham Samad." It revealed that Samad had held meetings with political party figures several times to discuss various issues, including offering help in dealing with the corruption case of Emir Moeis, a politician from the Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), which violates laws of the KPK.

Moreover, the South and West Sulawesi Regional Police Command had already named Samad as a suspect over his alleged involvement in a forgery of residence documents case in 2007.

Samad was accused of having falsified the identity and family card documents of Feriyani Lim, which Lim used to apply for a passport.

With regard to which of the two cases will be given priority, Haiti noted that the documents forgery case will be prioritized.

"For the time being, the case that the South and West Sulawesi Regional Police Command is dealing with will be prioritized. But both cases may be handled together," he pointed out.
