The party tribunal`s decision was signed by all judges and so in which part they differ should be clear."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The minister of justice only implemented what the Golkar Partys tribunal decided in line with the law on political party, according to legal expert OC Kaligis.
"Indonesia is a law-based country. What the minister of justice has done is in line with the political party law that warrants the settlement of conflicts through a partys tribunal, he said at the Golkar Party headquarters here on Wednesday.
He was speaking at a lecture during the first national leadership meeting of the Golkar Party.
He cited the statement of Yusril Ihza Mahendra, the lawyer of Aburizal Bakries camp, that the decision of the partys tribunal was final and binding.
Hence, he expressed hope that all sides will consider it for settling the internal conflict of the Golkar Party.
Following its defeat in last years general elections, the Golkar Party, the countrys oldest political party, has been divided under the rival leaderships of Agung Laksono and Aburizal Bakrie.
Justice Minister Yasonna Laoly recently announced a decision recognizing Agung as the legitimate leader of the party, after its four-member tribunal issued a decision with two of the members confirming Agungs legitimacy and advising the accommodation of rival cadres in a new board.
Aburizal Bakrie later filed a lawsuit in the administrative court challenging the ministers decision and called for the postponement of its finalization.
Kaligis called on all sides to read carefully the decision of the Golkar Partys tribunal and expressed hope that there would be no dissenting opinion because the decision was signed by all judges in the tribunal.
He emphasized that all sides should give the decision of the minister of justice a thorough read.
"The party tribunals decision was signed by all judges and so in which part they differ should be clear," he remarked.
Meanwhile, the one-day national leadership meeting was attended by cadres from across Indonesia.
