Earlier on Tuesday, Indonesian citizen Siti Zaenab had also been executed in Saudi Arabia without an official notification before the exuction was done.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has sent another note of protest to the Saudi government for not being notified first ahead of the execution of its citizen Karni binti Medi Tarsim in that country.
"The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Saudi ambassador to Indonesia to hand over a diplomatic note of protest on the disappoint of the Indonesian government over the execution of an Indonesian without official notification in advance to Indonesia as normally practiced in the international affairs," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir said here on Thursday.
At 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, the Indonesian Consulate General in Jidda received news that Karni binti Medi Tarsim had been executed without notification in advance.
Earlier on Tuesday, Indonesian citizen Siti Zaenab had also been executed in Saudi Arabia without an official notification before the exuction was done.
The Indonesian government also sent a strong protest over the case.
Arrmanatha said that the absence of advance notification on the date and place of the execution was the most regretted thing by the Indonesian government.
"With advance notification on the plan and date of the the execution we will have an opportunity to once again approach the families of the victim. Or at least, we can send the families of Siti and Karni meet them for the last time," he said.(*)
