"We will propose a new global order, a new global balance. There are a lot of problems in Asia and Africa, including in the Middle East that need our attention," he said at the Halim Perdanakusumah airport in Jakarta before leaving for a working visit to North Sumatra on Saturday.
He said there had been good cooperation among countries in Asia and Africa so far.
Regarding the materials Indonesia would present at the conference, the President said the preparation for that was almost complete.
The 60th anniversary commemoration event will mark the first Asia-Africa Conference and is expected to be attended by around 3.6 thousand delegates from 77 countries. Up till Thursday, 1,870 delegates had already been registered, the foreign ministry said.
Around 480 businessmen have also expressed their willingness to attend the Asia-Africa Business Summit. Indonesia has invited 109 Asian and African countries to attend the AAC.
In total, 57 delegations from Asian and African nations have confirmed their attendance at the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the AAC.
Of the 10 ASEAN member countries, the Philippines will not be attending the event, while Thailand has not confirmed its participation yet.
Events will include a senior official meeting on April 19, a ministerial-level meeting on April 20, the Asian-African Business Summit on April 21, and the Asian-African Summit in Jakarta on April 22 and 23.
The heads of state will also participate in a historical walk event, which will be held in Bandung on April 24.
The AAC was first held in Bandung in April 1955, and was a result of the joint initiative of Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma), Ceylon (Sri Lanka), India, and Pakistan. (*)
