"Growing together is a must, one day South-South and Triangular Cooperation will not only narrow development gap among countries, but also will contribute to the peace and prosperity in the world," said Minister Marsudi during the opening event of SSTCs exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center, on Sunday.
"And Indonesia is ready, together with the Asian African countries to advance the cooperation," she emphasized.
In regards with the commitment to grow together, Indonesia has established the National Coordination Team of SSTC to generate various viable cooperation fields.
Indonesia has conducted more than 400 programs in strengthening the technical capacities for technical capacity in various fields, like education, agriculture, fisheries, democratization and good governance, and disaster risk management.
Around four thousand people from Asian and African countries participated in the programs.
Minister Marsudi also emphasized that the Asia-Africa Conference (AAC)s theme - "Advancing South-South Cooperation" is matter because it is a manifestation of solidarity in strengthening relationship among the Asian and African countries.
"Why South-South matters, it is a manifestation of solidarity among the Asian and African countries to grow together and to share prosperity together," she said.
The SSTC exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center is one of side events held by Indonesia as the host of the Asia-Africa Conference (AAC), from April 19 to 23.
The opening event was also attended by Minister of Tourism Arif Yahya, Minister of National Development Planning Andrinof Chaniago, the Vice Minister of Finance Mardiasmo, and Minister/State Secretary Pratikno.
The four ministers plus Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi are members of the National Coordination Team of South-South and Triangular Cooperation. (*)
