"I hope that all the ministries under my coordination would speak the same language," Luhut said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Security and Legal Affairs Luhut Panjaitan stated here on Wednesday that he will immediately coordinate with the relevant ministers after his inauguration here on Wednesday.
"I hope that all the ministries under my coordination would speak the same language," he informed newsmen after his inauguration at the state palace.
President Joko Widodo inaugurated six new ministers, including Luhut Panjaitan, who replaced Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno.
Other figures installed as ministers were former central bank governor Darmin Nasution as coordinating minister for economic affairs, economist Rizal Ramli as coordinating minister for maritime affairs, Thomas Lembong as trade minister, former coordinating minister for economic affairs Sofyah Djalil as minister of national development planning, and former legislator Pramono Anung as cabinet secretary.
Luhut, a former army general, was the presidents chief of staff before he was inaugurated as the new coordinating minister for political, security and legal affairs.
The presidents communications team member, Teten Masduki, remarked that until now, no one had been selected to replace Luhut as the presidents chief of staff, but an acting chief of staff would likely be named soon.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by First Lady Iriana, Vice President Jusuf Kalla and wife Mrs Mufidah Kalla along with former president Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Megawati is currently the chief of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), which is also the political party of President Widodo.(*)
