Presiden Joko Widodo (center) took the first dose of a Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccine, CoronaVac, in an event broadcast live by national television from the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (January 13, 2021). The vaccine was granted an emergency use approval by the Indonesian drug monitoring agency on Monday (January 11, 2021) and halal fatwa from MUI a day after (January 12, 2021).
