Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto shared the results of his visit to five Middle Eastern countries with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and ministers upon arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Tuesday morning.
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Budi Gunawan, who also welcomed Prabowo's return from Amman, Jordan -- the final stop in his series of state visits to the Middle East -- shared details of the president's engagements.
"The president shared (details of) his successful meetings, including (delivering) his speech in front of the Turkish parliament and (receiving a) warm welcome from President Erdogan. In Jordan, he was hosted by King Abdullah, and there was also an investment commitment of US$2 billion from Qatar to Danantara," Gunawan noted in a press statement on Tuesday.
After the PK-GRD Presidential Aircraft landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on Tuesday morning, Prabowo was immediately greeted by Vice President Gibran and members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Minister Gunawan, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Based on ANTARA's monitoring, Prabowo was seen briefing his ministers for approximately 15 minutes.
In addition to recounting the warm reception he received from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein during his state visits, Prabowo also shared the results of cooperation and investment agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt.
"There will be an investment of US$2 billion from Qatar to Danantara. The United Arab Emirates will also invest in Indonesia. Regarding the cooperation with Egypt, it will also boost the enthusiasm of our students in Egypt, since there are so many of them," Gunawan affirmed.
Following talks with the vice president and the ministers, Prabowo immediately departed from the air base in the Maung Garuda presidential car.
Prabowo's Middle East tour spanned April 9–15, 2025, covering the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan.
In the five-nation trip, he met with each country's leaders and witnessed the MoU signing and cooperation agreements in several countries.
During a series of visits to the Middle East, Prabowo also consulted with the leaders of each country to deliberate on efforts to achieve peace and discussed Indonesia's plan to temporarily evacuate the Palestinian people in Gaza to Indonesia.
