The agreements, which include memorandums of understanding (MoUs), are split between government-to-government, business-to-business, and government-to-business deals.
In a press release issued in Jakarta, President Prabowo's secretariat informed that the agreements will serve as a foundation for collaboration in multiple fields, including energy transition, food security, security and counterterrorism, trade and economy, and religious affairs.
The deals comprise:
- A letter of intention on partnership in nature and climate between the UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Food;
- A protocol of the second amendment to the MoU on cooperation in marine affairs and fisheries between the Indonesian and UAE governments;
- An MoU on security and counterterrorism cooperation between the UAE Interior Ministry and the Indonesian Police (Polri);
- An MoU on Islamic affairs and endowments cooperation between the Indonesian Religious Affairs Ministry and the UAE General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat;
- An MoU on milk production investment between the Indonesian Agriculture Ministry and the UAE's Al-Ain Farms;
- An MoU between Ninety Degree General Trading LLC and Indonesia's state-run defense equipment manufacturer PT Pindad;
- An agreement in principle on increasing the capacity of Indonesia's Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant; and
- An MoU on the plan to develop the 100-megawatt Jatigede Floating Solar Power Plant in Indonesia between its state-run electricity company PT PLN and Abu Dhabi-based energy firm Masdar.
The Indonesian President is currently on a Middle East diplomatic tour, during which he aims to drum up support from the leaders of the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan for his plan to evacuate one thousand Palestinians to Indonesia.
