Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto discussed his main programs, including Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and energy self-sufficiency, during a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Jakarta on Sunday, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated.

"Of course, we expect higher investment. Going forward, strategic projects, like the giant sea wall, are also being prepared," he told the press at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Sunday.

At the meeting, the president was accompanied by Minister Hartarto and several other ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.

The bilateral meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and PM Li Qiang took place as part of the Chinese Premier's official visit to Indonesia.

President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang also witnessed the signing of four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and eight cooperation documents between Indonesia and China on Sunday.

The four MoUs signed included one on establishing a cooperation framework to encourage bilateral transactions in local currencies between Bank Indonesia and the People's Bank of China.

There is also an MoU on cooperation in economic development policies between Indonesia’s National Economic Council (DEN) and the National Development and Reform Commission of China.

Furthermore, the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and China’s Ministry of Commerce signed an MoU on strengthening economic cooperation for industries and supply chains.

Lastly, the fourth MoU concerns the Two Countries, Twin Parks cooperation between the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Fujian Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, the eight cooperation documents signed by Indonesia and China included cooperation in tourism, cooperation in agricultural exports, and cooperation between Indonesia’s news agency ANTARA and China’s news agency Xinhua.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Indonesia on Saturday for a three-day visit from May 24 to 26.
