Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto called for the elimination of all forms of misappropriation and corruption within the government during the 2025 Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony here on Monday.

The president stated that the Indonesian nation is facing serious challenges, not only in the form of a lack of resources but also regarding the mindset of the nation's officials, especially those in important positions representing the people.

"As president of Indonesia, I observe that there are still too many (instances of) misappropriation, there is still too much corruption, there is still too much manipulation in the government," he pointed out.

On that occasion, the president emphasized the importance of returning to the noble values of the state ideology, Pancasila, as a guideline for improving the system and conduct within the government.

He urged all state administrators to make immediate improvements.

"I have taken an oath in front of the people to uphold the Constitution and all laws in this republic, and God willing, I will fulfill that oath without hesitation," he stated.

The president also underlined that the government will take firm action against those who harm the people's interests and undermine the integrity of state institutions.

"Our country is strong. We will get rid of those who are not loyal to the nation without favoritism," he emphasized.

President Prabowo remarked that the 2025 Pancasila Day serves as a momentum to strengthen national integrity ahead of the 100th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

Monday's ceremony was also attended by Megawati Soekarnoputri, the fifth president of Indonesia, currently serving as chairperson of the Steering Council of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP); 10th and 12th vice president Jusuf Kalla; and 6th vice president Try Sutrisno.
