Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, has told schools that the School Revitalization program is not solely concerned with physical infrastructure construction, but a joint effort to boost national education quality.
According to Haq, the improvement or construction of school infrastructure must be accompanied by a change in mindset and a spirit to innovate continuously.
“This is a vital part of our commitment to improving the education ecosystem,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.
He emphasized the role and responsibility of all parties, especially formal educational institutions, to equip students with greater adaptability, critical thinking, and multidisciplinary learning skills to prepare them for the rapidly changing industrial world.
Fajar also underscored the importance of vocational high school graduates upholding the values of humanity, empathy, and solidarity amid the digital transformation era, when artificial intelligence (AI) use is becoming increasingly common.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has implemented a national priority program called the Revitalization of Quality Educational Facilities and Infrastructure as part of efforts to realize the 4th Asta Cita mission.
The mission includes strengthening human resource development, enhancing quality education, accessibility, advancing science and technology, and fostering the innovative and adaptive character of the young generation.
The revitalization also reflects President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to improving school facilities and infrastructure to ensure optimal educational services and benefits for students.
The ministry earlier planned to start the revitalization of more than 10 thousand schools across Indonesia in July 2025 with a budget of Rp16.9 trillion (around US$1.04 billion)
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti said that the revitalization program is one of the government’s Quick-Win Programs in the education sector.
