Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited several injured residents at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) and Pelni Hospital in Jakarta on Friday night, following violent clashes between protesters and police.
A video obtained by ANTARA on Saturday morning showed Gibran visiting patients at both hospitals, located in Central and West Jakarta.
At Pelni Hospital, Gibran checked on Moh. Umar Amirudin, an online motorcycle taxi driver initially reported dead but later confirmed to be alive, conscious, and receiving treatment.
The vice president inquired about Umar’s injuries and the protest, where Umar explained he had taken the route because many roads were blocked due to the demonstrations.

“Rest for three days before going home,” Gibran advised. Umar nodded in agreement before the vice president shook hands with him and his family.
Gibran also visited another injured man in a nearby room, who said he suffered head injuries and dizziness after being caught in the clashes while returning home from work.
The protests, which began Thursday, escalated into violent confrontations with police. The situation worsened when a police Barracuda tactical vehicle ran over and killed Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver. Affan was pronounced dead at RSCM later that night.
In response, seven police officers inside the Barracuda were detained and declared suspects by the National Police’s Profession and Internal Security Division (Propam). They are currently under arrest and undergoing investigation.
