Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka conducted a late-night patrol on Thursday (September 4) to oversee the implementation of the neighborhood security system (siskamling) in several areas of Jakarta and to visit a local market.

The visits were aimed at ensuring the stability of community activities following protests held last week.

According to an official statement released in Jakarta on Friday, Gibran began his visit at the security post of RW (Neighborhood Association) 04 in Kembangan Utara Subdistrict, Kembangan District, West Jakarta, surprising residents preparing for their night patrol duties.

The Vice President greeted residents and was welcomed by the head of RW 04, who reported that the local security and public order situation remained relatively stable. During the visit, Gibran handed over supplies to support the night patrol, including flashlights, electric water heaters, and consumables such as sugar and instant coffee sachets.

Inside the 4x5 meter security post, he held discussions with residents about the condition of their neighborhood before, during, and after the recent demonstrations. Residents shared their experiences and the measures taken to maintain safety in their area.

Following the stop in Kembangan, the Vice President proceeded to Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. Arriving around 11:00 p.m., Gibran interacted with residents and inspected the preparedness of the Disaster-Prepared Village Public Kitchen Post, which is integrated with the neighborhood security post.
