The message was delivered by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during a visit to the family’s home in Pematang Village, Tigaraksa Sub-district, Tangerang District, Banten, on Tuesday.
“Mr. Vice President conveyed his and President Prabowo Subianto’s condolences to the family,” Banten Governor Andra Soni said.
Wearing a brown-blue batik shirt, the vice president arrived at around 3 p.m. local time to pay respects, extend condolences, and briefly speak with the victim’s father, Abdul Ghofur.
Ghofur told Gibran the family was shocked to learn that Falah had allegedly left school to join mass demonstrations in Jakarta.
“What I knew is that he left for school, but his homeroom teacher later informed us that my son had asked for permission to return home,” he said.
The family decided not to pursue an investigation or legal proceedings regarding his death.

During the visit, Gibran instructed Governor Soni to provide special attention to the mourning family. The governor said the provincial government would evaluate education monitoring systems to better protect students.
“We convened a coordination meeting with the Banten Regional Police Chief to discuss ways to safeguard students from such incidents,” Soni noted.
He also urged the public to remain calm, continue daily activities, and trust authorities to maintain order.
“Let us all pray for safety and peace in Banten and across Indonesia,” he added.
Also attending the visit were Banten Police Chief Brigadier General Hengki and Tangerang District Head Mochamad Maesyal Rasyid.
Falah, an 11th grader at a public vocational high school in Tangerang, died after intensive hospital care for severe blunt force injuries allegedly sustained during a riot near the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, August 28.
According to Sugiono, the local neighborhood head, the family only learned of Falah’s condition on Saturday, August 30, and rushed to the hospital in Jakarta.
