The deployment is intended to rotate and replace Indonesian peacekeeping troops currently serving in Lebanon, according to Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman.
"I see that the troops are ready. Of course, this is a UN mission, but more importantly it is a mission for the Indonesian nation," Dudung said at the TNI Peacekeeping Mission Center in Sentul, West Java, on Monday.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring soldiers' safety, maintaining Indonesia's good reputation, and performing their duties to the best of their ability.
Dudung also highlighted the strong reputation of Indonesian soldiers in the international community.
"Indonesian soldiers are highly regarded there for their friendliness, concern, and seriousness in carrying out their duties," he said.
He asked for prayers and support from all Indonesians so the mission can proceed smoothly and all soldiers return home safely.
On the same occasion, Foreign Minister Sugiono encouraged the soldiers to carry out their duties sincerely, enthusiastically, and with conviction to uphold Indonesia's reputation internationally.
He emphasized that although they were serving as peacekeepers, the operational area remained far from peaceful, making safety a top priority.
"It is an honor for me to meet you today, and an even greater honor to welcome you home in good health," Sugiono said.
