Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) have confirmed their readiness to join a peacekeeping mission in Gaza if the government decides to deploy troops to the conflict-torn enclave.

TNI Information Center Chief Maj. Gen. Freddy Ardianzah said on Monday that the military is prepared to carry out any decision or policy made by the government, particularly a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto as the TNI Supreme Commander.

From a technical standpoint, he said, TNI troops are well-trained to undertake various missions, including military operations and military operations other than war (MOOTW), even in international conflict zones.

"Our personnel routinely undergo interoperability training, maintain logistical readiness, and enhance operational capabilities in diverse terrains," Ardianzah noted.

While all aspects of preparedness have been well-structured, he added that the TNI is still awaiting an official order from the government before proceeding with any peace mission in Gaza.

"In essence, TNI is ready to execute any government decision professionally, proportionally, and with a strong commitment to upholding peace and Indonesia's national interests, in accordance with both national and international law," he said.

President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to supporting peace efforts in Gaza during the 13th ASEAN–United States Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.

During the forum, which was attended by US President Donald Trump, he emphasized Indonesia's readiness to actively participate in humanitarian and peace missions in regions that require protection.

"Let us choose to be on the right side of history. Let ASEAN and the United States be partners for peace — building lasting peace, fostering constructive cooperation, and strengthening partnerships that deliver tangible benefits for our people and the world," Prabowo said.
