Over the period North Sumatra's exports to Malaysia stood at US122.083 million, while its imports from the neighboring country reached US$242.476 million, Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Office in North Sumatra Wien Kusdiatmono said here on Saturday.
North Sumatra's imports from Malaysia included mineral raw materials, electrical machines/appliances, fertilizers, foods and drinks, and plastics.
Malaysia is the second largest ASEAN country supplying goods to North Sumatra after Singapore.
The province's imports from Singapore until July 2015 reached US$405.157 million dollars.
"In total, North Sumatra's imports until July 2015 reached US$2.234 billion, down by 24.91 percent from US$2.975 billion in tyhe same period last year.
