During the visit, which was based on the theme, "An Innovative Partnership for 21st Century", the Queen of Denmark was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Kristian Jensen, the Minister of Energy, Public Service and Climate, Lars Christian Lilleholt, the Danish Ambassador to Indonesia, Casper Klynge and a Danish business delegation.
Klynge said the queen had initiated cooperation with Indonesia in four business sectors, namely maritime, agri-business, urban and renewable energy solutions, as well as design and lifestyle.
"Although, Indonesia has the worlds fourth largest population, it is still a well-maintained secret. The better the world realizes its potential to foster political and economic relations, the more interesting Indonesia will become," Klynge said.
On the occasion, the Director of Indonesian shipping company, Pelindo II R.J Lino said the partnership between Denmark and Indonesia could assist Indonesia's maritime concept.
"We strongly support the efforts being made by Denmark to strengthen partnership, particularly in the maritime sector. It will strengthen the implementation of Indonesias maritime concepts and reduce national logistics cost," he remarked.
The Danish delegation also participated in a seminar on environmentally friendly technology and maritime cooperation, as well as visited the Pelindo II mega project.
During the seminar, businesses and governments, which are engaged in the maritime field, also met to open up cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
In addition, they also discussed effective business practices, challenges and strengthening networks in the maritime sector.
The Danish business delegation would like to learn from the success of and challenges faced by the Tanjung Priok Port as the main and the busiest logistics port in Indonesia.
The Queen and the Prince of Denmark will visit the three cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Surabaya (East Java) and Yogyakarta from October 22 to 24.
The Danish Royal couple is visiting Indonesia to commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Indonesia.(*)
