Hekal stated that in recent months, Danantara has been actively building global partnerships, including with other sovereign wealth funds.
“In my opinion, Danantara’s steps are very good. This is exactly the role we expect from Danantara — to act as an investment guide, especially for foreign investors, whether private institutions or SWFs,” he noted in a written statement received here on Tuesday.
He praised Danantara’s efforts in attracting global investors to Indonesia, noting that its function as an investment guide is vital in directing incoming capital toward national priority sectors.
He also highlighted that Danantara's presence serves as an effective form of economic diplomacy, noting that Indonesia is not only drawing investment but also strengthening its bargaining position on the global stage.
“In a relatively short time, Danantara has already succeeded in attracting investments worth billions of dollars. This is a positive signal that Indonesia is trusted as a long-term investment destination,” he remarked.
According to Hekal, this achievement should be a stepping stone for further progress. He expressed hope that Danantara’s efforts in building international partnerships will not only continue but also improve further.
“Looking ahead, we hope this momentum can be sustained and even enhanced,” he remarked.
To address future challenges, he emphasized that Danantara must position itself as an investment leader, playing a central role in guiding and channeling foreign investment toward Indonesia’s priority sectors.
“Right now, we are taking charge or leading in investment-driven economic growth, and Danantara is one of its key instruments,” he noted.
