... I had told him to be ready and be frank in telling everything as it happened, no more no less."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to report on the conditions in the country during the time the President was away to attend the COP21 in Paris.
"It is a normal thing for me to report after the President returns from an overseas visit," he said here on Wednesday.
When asked if he also reported about the Indonesia parliaments ethics council (MKD) meeting, Vice President Jusuf Kalla said that the subject was discussed for a short while.
Asked if he watched the proceedings of the MKD meeting broadcast live, he said he only watched it for a while but just the initial stage.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla said he and President Jokowi had received a report from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said before he reported to the MKD.
He said anyone who knew about anything suspicious or unethical must report the same to the authorities concerned.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla had advised Minister Sudirman Said to be frank about the issue concerning someone exploiting the names of the President and the Vice President to extort anything from PT Freeport Indonesia.
"I have not communicated with him (Sudirman) but earlier I had told him to be ready and be frank in telling everything as it happened, no more no less," he said after opening a national meeting of the Real Estate Indonesia (REI).
Vice President Jusuf Kalla urged all the concerned parties to attend the MKD meeting, if needed, to ensure that it goes off smoothly.
The MKD held a meeting of its ethics council with regard to the allegation that House Speaker Setya Novanto had extorted benefits from PT Freeport Indonesia by exploiting the names of the President and the Vice President.
Energy Minister Sudirman Said had reported Novanto to MKD with a transcript of a recording of Novantos conversation with PT Freeport Indonesias chief Maroef Sjamsoeddin and Muhammad Reza Chalid, as evidence.
Sudirman Said was heard as a witness at the meeting on Wednesday while Maroef Sjamsoeddin and Reza Chalid would be heard on Thursday.
After all the witnesses were heard, Setya Novanto would be heard as the one who had been reported (as having indulged in an unethical practice).
